THE POSITION

Main Activities and Responsibilities

Reporting to the Senior Catering Manager, the THQ Catering Manager will be a key member of the FIFA Club World Cup 25 Operations team and will work in close collaboration with the FIFA Project team and other key individuals responsible for delivering on-site catering operations to ensure seamless food and beverage service delivery for all key Functional Areas (FAs) during the FIFA Club World Cup 2025. 

The main responsibilities and oversight of the THQ Catering Manager for the FIFA Club World Cup 25™ include:
  • The THQ Catering Manager will be responsible for overseeing catering logistics, managing meal distribution, and ensuring compliance with FIFA’s operational standards and best practices. 
  • Oversee food service logistics for Marketing/VIK, Workforce, Volunteers, Officials, Teams, Medical, Youth/Ball Kids, Media/Broadcasting Services, and Entertainment & Ceremonies. 
  • Lead the daily operations of the Workforce and Volunteers Restaurant and TV Compound dinning, ensuring timely and efficient service. 
  • Manage the distribution of food (e.g. per meal boxes) across designated areas. 
  • Manage Coffee orders across all FA’S.  
  • Coordinate rate card catering services, ensuring deadlines, accuracy and fulfilment. 
  • Attend Venue Manager (VM) meetings to align on daily operational plans and resolve potential issues proactively. 
  • Quality Control & Ensure food safety, hygiene, and compliance with FIFA catering standards. Monitor service quality.  
  • Work closely with the Look & Feel and Signage teams to provide content for wayfinding signage in workforce restaurants. 
  • Conduct post-service debriefs with the Main Operations Center (MOC) team to assess performance and identify areas for improvement. 
  • Prepare and present daily closing reports on catering performance and operational challenges. 
  • Track key data points related to catering operations and maintain organized records. 
  • Daily Financial reconciliation  
  • Collaborate on sustainability efforts, promoting eco-friendly practices such as responsible sourcing and waste reduction in catering services. 
  • Ability to work long hours, including weekends and holidays, during the tournament. 
  • Supporting the execution of operational and logistical plans across tournament venues and locations.
  • Being present on-site during events to oversee operations, provide real-time problem-solving, and ensure smooth delivery.
  • Managing tasks related to various functional areas, coordinating with teams and stakeholders to achieve operational goals.
  • Working closely with venue teams, contractors, and local authorities to ensure compliance with FIFA guidelines and local regulations.
  • Acting as the primary point of contact for day-to-day operations within assigned areas.
  • Monitoring schedules, tracking progress, and addressing any operational challenges that arise.
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams across the USA, Canada, and Mexico to align on deliverables and timelines.
  • Upholding FIFA’s commitment to excellence by ensuring all operational aspects meet or exceed standards.

Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree or similar level of higher education in Hospitality Management, Events Management, Culinary Arts, or Food Service Management.   
  • Team Player, capable of working autonomously and meeting tight deadlines.  
  • Solution oriented with a strong attention to detail.  
  • Exceptional communication and organisational skills.  
  • Problem solving and conflict resolution skills.  
  • Positive attitude, patience and persistence.  
  • International, cross-cultural work experiences preferred.  
  • Minimum 3 years of experience of Catering project management processes or a similar role.   
  • Strong understanding of F&B logistics, supplier coordination, and on-site service execution.  
  • Ability to manage multiple catering zones and lead operational delivery under tight tournament schedules.  
  • Knowledge of dietary requirements, food safety regulations, and large-scale meal distribution.  
  • Experience building or evaluating innovative solutions.  
  • Knowledge of international football (soccer), Hospitality or Catering in USA Stadiums and FIFA World Cups or Large-Scale sports Events.   
  • Fluent in English. Spanish and/or French proficiency is a plus 
  • Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio & Project) and planning software and online collaboration tools
