Reporting organisationally to the Senior Manager, Transport Integration the Manager, Transport Mapping will be a key member of the FIFA26 Transport Management team, and work in close collaboration with the Host City Transport Planners, Host City transit Agencies, City Mobility Manager, Venue Transport Manager and other key individuals responsible for delivering the successful integration of the conceptual and operational planning for the FIFA World Cup 2026 (FWC2026) Event Transportation in their assigned US region. 

The Manager, Transport Mapping is responsible for map research, study, and preparation of maps and other spatial data in digital or graphic form for FWC2026 Event Transport purposes. Also work with Geographic Information Systems (GIS), Computer-aided design (CAD) and evaluate algorithms, data structures, and user interfaces for GIS, CAD and other mapping systems.
 
The successful candidate is expected to be a self-starter and multitasker who works well under pressure and follows through on tasks.

THE POSITION

The main responsibilities and oversights of the Manager, Transport Mapping for the FIFA World Cup 26™ include:  

• Participate in venues / sites and facilities map production process with involved FWC2026 Projects
• Lead the transport mapping process, including development of required maps within Event Transport in close cooperation with involved FWC2026  Projects
• Create design and produce specific maps for FWC2026 Event Transport purposes (Drivers Books, VAPPs, etc.)
• Revise existing maps and charts, making all necessary corrections and adjustments
• Compile data required for maps preparation, including aerial photographs, survey notes, records, reports, original maps, etc.
• Determine map content and layout, as well as production specifications such as scale, size, projection, and colors, and direct production to ensure that FWC2026 specifications are followed
• Inspect final compositions together with representatives of involved FWC2026 Event Transport Sub-Projects to ensure completeness and accuracy
• Prepare and alter trace maps, charts, tables, detailed drawings using computer graphics equipment;
• Build and update digital databases
• Travel over different venues / sites and facilities to observe, identify, record, and verify all relevant features
• Scheduling staff, assigning responsibilities and ensuring tasks are in accordance with FWC2026 Event Transport Sub-Projects milestones.
• Support HC with the schedule & route consolidation plan ensuring that these plans meet the FIFA26 requirements
• Support delivery of Transport for all test events in assigned region prior to the FIFA World Cup 2026
• Ability to travel as needed

YOUR PROFILE

• Bachelor’s Degree in Cartography, Mapping or Design, or a combination of education and experience relating to position.
• Master’s Degree is an additional asset
• Must possess a valid driver’s license and passport.
• Ability to travel as needed.
• Minimum of Five (5) years Cartography experience: ideally within the football, sport, event or Three (3) years of experience as a Cartographer, Digital Cartographer, Mapping Manager, GIS Manager, CAD Manager, or Three (3) years equivalent management position.
• Mapping experience within at least one mega project event, ideally more than one world class sport event (e.g. FIFA World Cup and/or Olympic Games, Regional Football Tournaments, etc.)
• Experience in compiling, coding, categorizing, calculating, tabulating, auditing and verifying information or data.
• Able to effectively present information and data, respond to questions from support staff, managers, and clients. Individual must be motivated, capable of working independently, with excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Experience working with public and private sector partners in a collaborative environment and ability to build strong partnerships
• Fluent in English.  Spanish fluency desired but not required.
• Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio & Project) and planning software and online collaboration tools, GIS, and mapping software
