Reporting organisationally to the Director, Brand & Marketing, the Head of Event Marketing will be a key member of the FIFA26 Commercial Operations team, and work in close collaboration with the FIFA Zurich Project team and other key individuals responsible for delivering  best-in-class design solutions for the FWC26. 

THE POSITION

The main responsibilities and oversights of the Head of Event Marketing for the FIFA World Cup 26™ include: 
  • Developing and setting the overall marketing strategy for FWC26 events that alignment with the companys broader goals, business objectives, PR, digital marketing, and content that generates awareness and drives new fandom
  • Working and organizing an existing event calendar, including both internal and external events, to ensure marketing plans are executed appropriately.
  • Managing the event marketing budget, ensuring resources are allocated efficiently across all events and activations surrounding the tournament and local city initiatives
  • Executing marketing initiatives such as activations, brand creative, experiences, and partnership collaborations
  • Building and tracking business purposes for events to ensure profitability and effectiveness.
  • Ensuring all events are aligned with the companys brand guidelines, values, and messaging.
  • Leading and setting a positive leadership tone across the current marketing team and other departments.
  • Collaborating with marketing, communications, events, commercial, and creative teams to ensure event goals align with company objectives and messaging.
  • Establishing and maintaining relationships with external vendors, event venues, and partners.
  • Overseeing the creative development of event campaigns, design elements, and experiences that resonate with target audiences.
  • Identifying target audience segments and creating tailored experiences that engage attendees.
  • Enhancing attendee experiences through interactive features, engaging content, and personalized touchpoints.
  • Developing follow-up strategies to maintain momentum after events to drive lead generation and conversion efforts, including post-event sales follow-up.
  • Monitoring and analyzing the performance of events through data, feedback, and post-event reports.
  • Stay up to date on the latest event industry trends, tools, and best practices, including hybrid and virtual event technologies.
 
 

YOUR PROFILE

  • Bachelor’s degree or similar higher education
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar role
  • Strong client management skills and agency background advantageous
  • Digital savvy with experience in social & digital marketing strategies
  • Demonstrated excellent organizational and communication skills
  • Experience in entertainment, events, and promotional campaigns
  • International or experience working in organizations with international offices/staff
  • Mid-level management experience
  •  Fluent in English and Spanish 
  • Outlook, Microsoft Suite, Planning tools, Project software, Wrike or Asana is a plus
  • Creative Assets – Aware of all current marketing software and assets
